As his career came to an end, Goldschimdt set the record as a Bobcat in career home runs with 36 and runs batted in with 179.

As he continued to succeed, his draft stock plummeted landing Goldschmidt in the 8th round of the 2009 MLB draft pick. Goldschmidt would dominated at the rookie-level of the minors hitting .334 with 18 home runs and 62 over the first 74 games in the minors. Goldschmidt rebounded in his third season finishing runner up to Mike Moustakas and Mark Trumbo with 35 home runs. After a strong start to open up the 2011 season at the Double A level (30 home runs and 94 runs batted in), Goldschmidt got the call to join the Diamondbacks big league roster to open up August.

The move to call up Goldschmidt helped the Diamondbacks earn a spot in the playoffs. In the playoffs, Goldschmidt became the third rookie to ever hit a grand slam while batting .438 with six runs batted in but the Diamondbacks lost the series 4-1. After being called up, Goldschmidt would remain on the big league roster from 2012 through 2018. Over that stretch Goldy hit 243 home runs with 807 runs batted in 1092 games with the Diamondbacks. The success over those years earned Goldschmid him second in the MVP voting twice, four silver slugger awards, three gold gloves and six All-Star nods.

With the Diamondbacks electing to get younger, Goldschmidt found his name in the trade rumors before eventually being traded to the St. Louis Cardinals before the start of the 2019 MLB season. In his first season in St. Louis, Goldschmidt started off his fresh start slow before getting hot in the second half of the season helping him finish with 25 doubles, 34 home runs and 97 runs batted in.
